[Three Rivers TESOL] 3RT Elections

The days are getting longer so we must be getting closer to spring. Spring
means the 3RT Spring Seminar and 3RT Executive Board elections!

*Want to be a part? *The 3RT Vice President position is open. You can read
below for the general description. *Please note that this is a 3-year
position and you will be president in 2022, when International TESOL is in
Pittsburgh!* *Nominate yourself* *by March 17, 2020* by emailing
president at threeriverstesol.org with your (1) first and last name, (2)
title, (3) affiliation, (4) a brief 50-word statement to be included in the
voting system.

*Get out and vote!* 2020 may be a big US election year, but you can have a
say in who the next 3RT Vice President is! Online elections will be open
from March 18 - April 18.

*Mark your calendars!* The Spring Seminar is Saturday, April 18, starting
at 8:30 *at Chatham University.  The theme is future directions for ESL
teacher education. The presenters and panelists are* Dr. Katharine Burns
(Carnegie Mellon University), Dr. Laura Mahalingappa (Duquesne University), Dr.
Dawn McCormick (University of Pittsburgh), Dr. Susan Rutledge (California
University of Pennsylvania), Dr. Lilia Savova (Indiana University of
Pennsylvania).

*TESOL 2020 International Convention & English Language Expo will be held
in Pittsburgh, PA, USA (March 22-25, 2020). Come to the 2020 3RT Spring
Seminar to learn about how to help TESOL 2020 Expo successful! *





Election information:

The 3RT board elections will conclude in the spring seminar. A position for
‘vice president’ needs to be filled for 2020-2021. 2022 TESOL International
Convention and English Language Expo, hosted by 3RT, which will be held
from 22-25 March in Pittsburgh. *The future elected vice president
2020-2021 will become the 3RT president 2021-2022 and play a significant
role in the 2022 TESOL Expo*.  Please consider nominating someone or
yourself for the great leadership opportunity! For more information about
3RT Executive Board Elections, see the last page of the newsletter.
According to the constitution, the following board positions are open for
election at the Spring Seminar:

   - Vice President:  The Vice President ‘learns the ropes’ to become
   president and has first choice to attend TESOL Advocacy summit when funding
   is available.
